June 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

I started my Paper Pumpkin subscription back up again. I had collected quite a few of those red boxes and hadn’t opened them. I found myself in need of some room and in a creative funk, so I opened one up and got to work. I was surprised to find myself enjoying them again. This is the first one I have done since I started again.

I thought the bees would be cute on the fruit. Although I really don’t like bees, I do like stamps of them! There are some cute ones in the Honeybee Home bundle. I’m excited to work on some of the other cards in this kit. One background is so pretty I don’t think I will even make the recommended card. Or maybe just one.

Paper Pumpkin is a great way to get you mojo flowing again. If you are interested, you can go here and sign up. It has a lot of bang for your buck and I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Thanks for stopping by!

Alternatives for the March 2020 Paper Pumpkins

I am still having fun playing with the March 2020 Paper Pumpkin. You can get so many different cards from this months kit. I love the extra stamp set that came with it. If you go join my PaperTree Creations Community page on Facebook, you can see a card I made to send to my church family to let them know I missed being with them on Sunday.

Here are two more cards I made.

When I first saw this card base, it reminded me of the sea. Out came the Sailing Home bundle. I wanted to make it a A2 card, so I cut the front off and matted it in Night of Navy before putting it on a Whisper White base. I colored the sailboat with Stampin Blends, fussy cut a cloud by stamping off first with Balmy Blue, and stamped my sentiment. I really like how it turned out.

The next one changes the sentiment and layout a little (had to use that bunny again!), but is mostly supplies from the kit. This was such a great kit! I made this one an A2 card too.

I know I will still be making other cards from this kit. I haven’t used half the supplies yet! Just love when you can get so much out of it.

Next month’s Paper Pumpkin looks awesome. Here is a teaser video. Don’t forget to sign up before April 10th to get the next Paper Pumpkin.

How to Get More from Your Paper Pumpkin (February 2020 Alternatives)

One of the things that I love about Paper Pumpkin is that you can make so much more then what the kit suggests! One of my favorite ways to do it is to cut up the card bases so you can make more that one card. I did three cards out of one base here. What a great value!

I took the card base and cut two 4 x 5 1/2 pieces. Then I took one of them and cut it in half again to make two 4 x 2 3/4 inch pieces. I wanted to use some of my other stamps too, so I found a couple that I thought would work well.

Cake Card

Staying with the birthday theme of the kit, I used the Piece of Cake stamp set and the Cake Builder punch.

For the first two cards, I heat embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder. I think the darker color makes the white really stand out. I dug around in my scraps and found this fun paper that went well with the card base. After coloring in the cake and suckers, I put them on the leftover punched out piece. There’s almost always a way to use the discarded pieces!

Come Sail Away

In this next card, I used the Sailing Home set for a masculine birthday card. The retired cording made a great rope accent, although I had to look at the picture of the sailors knot on the Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper to make it!

For the last card, I used the Lovely Lilypad stamp set. This is a free-with-purchase set from Sale-A-Bration.

Paper Pumpkin is a great value. And next month, the value will be even more! For their 7th anniversary, they are including a second free stamp set! So don’t wait! Sign up now to get this great subscription box delivered to you every month.

Paper Pumpkin Alternatives for the February 2020 Kit

Have you seen the February Paper Pumpkin yet? I am always so impressed with the quality of the kit, especially for the price point! With this kit, you make 9 cards, get a stamp set, all the embellishments, dimensionals, and an ink spot . All for $22 shipped! I think that’s impressive.

So I just started playing with it, and I made a slight modification on one of the cards. I pretty much followed the instructions but put the sentiment on the top of the card instead of over the flower. I thought the flower was too pretty to cover up!

Speaking of the flower, when I saw the flower stamp, I knew I wanted to color it! It is so pretty. So I used some Stampin’ Blends and this is what I came up with.

The pop up foam sentiments are done in copper foil and are lovely. It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the sequins that come in the kit are on the buds. It gives it a nice sparkly look.

If you haven’t tried the Paper Pumpkin Subscription Box, now is the time. Paper Pumpkin is celebrating their 7th anniversary in March and are including a second stamp set! It looks like a cute set and I think it may coordinate with the Under My Umbrella Bundle. I can’t promise that because it is always a surprise, but those rain boots make me think it might.

If you would like to sign up to start receiving this kit every month go to Paper Pumpkin and start your subscription now. Sign up before March 10th to get this kit. You won’t regret it!

Here’s a beautiful card I made with this bundle:

I used Flirty Flamingo card stock to cut out flower base and topped it with the outline in Poppy Parade. The leaves are done in Old Olive with the outline in Mossy Meadow. I used the Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper and took a 1″ x 5 1/2″ strip of paper and mounted it on a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Old Olive cardstock. I used a Thank You stamp for the sentiment but you could use any sentiment you want.
