New Ink Pads

Stampin Up has come out with a new ink pad design along with a whole new color refresh. There are some wonderful new colors that will be so fun to work with. I am especially loving the new purples, Gorgeous Grape (I do live in grape country) and Highland Heather. And the new in colors are fabulous too.

New Ink Pad Case Design

The new design of the ink pads makes them easier to use. Here is a video showing how.

Isn’t that easy! If you need a catalog so you can see the new ink pads and colors, just let me know and I will be happy to get one out to you.

Have a great day!

Aren’t They Cute

Can I tell you how much I love the new paper in the Love What You Do suite? It is so pretty. Here is a scrapbook layout I did using one of the sheets.

I just love the colors and patterns in it. The subjects are pretty cute too! Hard to believe that my youngest is now 20. I miss all the cuteness that goes with them when they are little. But I love the friendship that I have now that they are older. Now I just have to figure out what year this was taken so I can date it. I think I’m a little behind on my scrapbooking.

This paper is available this month only in a bundle. Starting in June you can buy it by itself but if you are like me and want it now here is the link to buy it. In a previous post here, there is a video showing the different bundles available. Take a look at the video to see what you can purchase.

Just a little hint. When using the paper to mat a bigger photo, make sure you cut out the middle of it and make a frame. No sense wasting all the beautiful paper.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

It’s A Beautiful Day!

Mother’s Day Treat Holders

With Mother’s Day coming up I thought it would be a good idea to get out the gift bag punch board and make a treat bag and treat holders using the Apron of Love set. In my last blog  I mentioned some other projects I would share so here are two of them

Gift Bag Treat Holder

I used the Delightful Daisy paper because it is so bright and pretty and also feminine looking but I think this project would look cute in a variety of papers.  I used the small setting on the punch board and its the perfect size for a couple chocolate treats. Who doesn’t love getting chocolate.

Gift Bag

The little oven mitt is so cute. You can’t tell in the picture but it is embossed to give it a quilted look.

Nugget Treat Holder

Here is another cute treat holder perfect for Hershey nuggets and is great for gift giving.

Nugget Treat Holder

I used retired product for this. It’s a great way to use up some of you retired stock. I think I’ll go through mine and make up some of these cute treat holders for the ladies in my church for Mother’s Day. Who wouldn’t love to get some chocolate!

I plan on sharing some other ideas using the Apron of Love.

Petal Passion Suite Paper Techniques

I just love the many ways you can use the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the Petal Palette Suite. Whether you use it in just the black and white as I did in this post or do many of the other things you can with it, it is a great paper. I wanted to share some things I did with it as promised.

Stamping on it

Here is a card where I just stamped additional leaves in Old Olive. The stamp matches the paper which gives it a look of continuity. There’s my little bird again. Just love him.

Coloring

This was Fun! I used the Stampin Blends, which are alcohol markers, to color in different designs on the paper. I colored some of the white dots and then matched the balloons to those colors to make a fun birthday card.

While I was coloring, I noticed a very cool thing happening on the other side of the paper. Alcohol markers bleed through to the other side and they made an interesting effect. I went with fall colors on this one.

And this is what it looks like on the other side.

I plan on making a fall card with this – in the fall!

I think the next one is my favorite. The paper is already shaded, so for people who don’t like to blend, this is the perfect paper for you! Just color and you have a beautiful background paper. Now I did color these in with my right hand (I am left-handed) since I am still in a cast and sling. So forgive the outside of the lines coloring!

Don’t miss the beautiful embossing folder on this one. It doesn’t show up well in the picture, but there are two of them in the pack and they are lovely.

Brayering

The last thing I did was to brayer on the paper. I love how it looks on this particular pattern.

Love You Card

Anytime is a great time of year for a love you card! But Valentines day is a special time to let all those  people in your life know how much you care about them! I have so many people who are special to me and who have been helping me through these recent months of healing! My family, who has put up with my inability to do much of anything, my friends who are a never-ending source of encouragement, and my church, who have provided many meals during my convalescence.

I am a week out from my surgery and not yet able to make cards, but I wanted to share one of the ones I did in that brief time after breaking my arm and before having surgery on it!

Petal Palette

When I first saw this set I fell in love with that little bird! And the paper which is black and white. Well, the whole thing really. Wow! I will be sharing a couple of ideas on what you can do with the paper in a future post.

I decided to use the paper that had a die cut to match it and make a reverse image. And of course I had to use the Sweet & Sassy heart framelits. There are some great sayings in this set and I chose the one that say’s I just love you. Great for Valentine’s Day or just to let someone know how much they mean to you.

I love the label framelit that come with this set. It is perfect for so many sayings and easy to use. I cut one from real red and whisper white, then cut the red one in half to pop it. Just adds a little something.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me. Hope my love you card inspires you to let someone in your life know you care!

New Year New Blog

It’s hard to believe that 2018 is here! I’ve been doing a little reflecting since I am still limited by my broken arm from doing much stamping. With all my girls here for the holidays, it’s easy to forget that they have moved on with their lives and at least two of them will be leaving again. It’s been so nice having them here! And it will be hard to let them go!

But life moves forward! So I decided to move my blog over to WordPress.  I have heard it was better for many different reasons. So far, it is confusing. But as I figure stuff out, I’m sure it will be easier. Bear with me as I learn this new format!

Here is a card I made for a local challenge. It is using products from the new Occasions catalog that goes live tomorrow. And it is a great catalog! If you need one I would be happy to mail it to you.
