New Year’s Resolutions?

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions? I used to but I stopped a few years ago. In reality though, I think I’ve always made them in the back of my mind. I just wanted to avoid not keeping them. Most of them involve organization! So this year I am again going to try to get organized.

I love the planner Stampin Up! has come out with. I used their old one for over a year before they came out with this one. I wasn’t going to switch but this one has a holder for a pen and I’m always loosing them.

You can start in any month because the dates are blank. I decided to start this one in January because it’s the beginning of the year and that goes with new resolutions.

I love the weekly pages because you can use them in so many different ways. I divide mine into three sections for the different things I want to keep track of. Some people use them for journals and they would be so fun to decorate.

Since I used the old one for quite awhile, I’m sure this will help me keep to my organizing resolution.

Perks Of Being A Demonstrator

One of the perks of being a demo is that you get the new stuff first! I just love opening my boxes from Stampin Up! Of course I love opening any package that has good things in it, but when I know it has new product to try, I’m extra excited.

Here is my latest!

It has some new product that will only be available during November. I can’t wait to share some ideas with you! So stay tuned for some fun cards and projects.

And if you’re interested in more of the benefits from being a demo check out my link here. I would love to have you join my team and start enjoying the benefits now.

Happy Stamping!

Happy World Card Making Day!

Happy World Card Making Day! I hope you get to spend the day crafting. Unfortunately I won’t get to spend as much time as I would like. To many things to do (like housework) that I have been neglecting lately. But I did want to share another card I made using Country Home.

I even used little pieces of a Q-tip to make cotton! Love this set!

Tomorrow is the last day to order from the World Card Making Day sale. You can find the items here. https://www.stampinup.com/ecweb/products/10040/world-card-making-day?utm_source=olo&utm_medium=main-ad&utm_campaign=homepage-refresh

Have a great day!

Four Seasons of Country Home

I was playing with the stamp set Country Home and wishing they would have made it with all the different seasonal stamps. I love the milk jug and pitcher. I have some of those around my house because I love the look.  It is right up my alley. So I went digging to see what I could find to make it something I could use all year long. Here are the cards I came up with.

Autumn

I used the watercolor pencils on this one and embossed the Galvanized paper with the new Tin Tile Embossing Folder. You are going to want this one!

Christmas/Winter

This one uses the Designer Series Paper Joyous Noel. This paper is fabulous. Pictures don’t do it justice. I also used the stamp set In Every Season for the next 3 cards. It was a prize patrol at our last Onstage event (perks of being a demo! ask me how) and I hadn’t used it yet. Absolutely perfect to add the different seasons.

Spring

For this one I used the Stampin Blends to color.

Blended Seasons

This month only you can order the bundle Blended Seasons. It is a great set for year round crafting and I have been having fun playing with it. Since fall is coming up on us, I made the following card.

I love the look of the three different colors of foil paper. Sorry the picture quality isn’t good. My camera died and I can’t find the charger! So I used my phone. But you get the idea. I love how it pops on the blackberry bliss DSP.

Product List

After I finished it I thought that it would make a great Christmas card too, so I pulled out the glitter paper and here is what I came up with. Same basic layout with a different die and a different season!
Both of these cards look so much better in person. They shine and glitter and look so nice.

Product List

This set is very versatile and it is only available in August. The best part is that during the month of August, Stampin’ Up! is having their Bonus Days! For every $50 you spend you get a $5 coupon good in the month of September. And guess when the Holiday Catalog goes live. That’s right. September.  So take advantage of both specials and save.
Look for more ideas for this set in upcoming posts too.
Have a great day!

Sitting Pretty

The Sitting Pretty bundle was one of the stamp sets that I knew I wanted to get right away. I love the bench die cut and my mind was full of ideas on how to use it. One of the ways I decided on was to do white on white.

Sitting Pretty

I love this layout because you can use it with so many different sentiments.

I added the little bird in this one.

All that with just white. Can you imagine it with color!

New Ink Pads

Stampin Up has come out with a new ink pad design along with a whole new color refresh. There are some wonderful new colors that will be so fun to work with. I am especially loving the new purples, Gorgeous Grape (I do live in grape country) and Highland Heather. And the new in colors are fabulous too.

New Ink Pad Case Design

The new design of the ink pads makes them easier to use. Here is a video showing how.

Isn’t that easy! If you need a catalog so you can see the new ink pads and colors, just let me know and I will be happy to get one out to you.

Have a great day!

Aren’t They Cute

Can I tell you how much I love the new paper in the Love What You Do suite? It is so pretty. Here is a scrapbook layout I did using one of the sheets.

I just love the colors and patterns in it. The subjects are pretty cute too! Hard to believe that my youngest is now 20. I miss all the cuteness that goes with them when they are little. But I love the friendship that I have now that they are older. Now I just have to figure out what year this was taken so I can date it. I think I’m a little behind on my scrapbooking.

This paper is available this month only in a bundle. Starting in June you can buy it by itself but if you are like me and want it now here is the link to buy it. In a previous post here, there is a video showing the different bundles available. Take a look at the video to see what you can purchase.

Just a little hint. When using the paper to mat a bigger photo, make sure you cut out the middle of it and make a frame. No sense wasting all the beautiful paper.

Thanks for stopping by to look.

More Apron of Love Cards!

More Apron Of Love

Okay, this will be my last post on Apron of Love! Maybe. I really do like this bundle and time is running out to buy it. I wanted to show a few more cards I made with it.

Fabulous Work Of Art

This would be such an encouraging card to send to a friend. To remind someone that they are special and unique would really make someone’s day. I love the artsy feel to this with the paint splatters and the crafty paper.

Mother’s Day Treat Holders

With Mother’s Day coming up I thought it would be a good idea to get out the gift bag punch board and make a treat bag and treat holders using the Apron of Love set. In my last blog  I mentioned some other projects I would share so here are two of them

Gift Bag Treat Holder

I used the Delightful Daisy paper because it is so bright and pretty and also feminine looking but I think this project would look cute in a variety of papers.  I used the small setting on the punch board and its the perfect size for a couple chocolate treats. Who doesn’t love getting chocolate.

Gift Bag

The little oven mitt is so cute. You can’t tell in the picture but it is embossed to give it a quilted look.

Nugget Treat Holder

Here is another cute treat holder perfect for Hershey nuggets and is great for gift giving.

Nugget Treat Holder
Nugget Treat Holder

I used retired product for this. It’s a great way to use up some of you retired stock. I think I’ll go through mine and make up some of these cute treat holders for the ladies in my church for Mother’s Day. Who wouldn’t love to get some chocolate!

I plan on sharing some other ideas using the Apron of Love.

Aprons Aren’t Just For Cooking

I’ve been playing with the Aprons of Love bundle this week and have discovered that aprons aren’t just for cooking. I am reminded of when I was younger and my mom and grandma were cooking.  They always wore aprons. Especially on Sunday so the wouldn’t get their dresses dirty. I have one or two hanging around and occasionally will wear one. It’s also fun to see my daughters put one on every once in a while. But I think the time of aprons for cooking has passed. I don’t know many people who use them anymore. But here is a cute card that can be used for a Starbucks gift card holder.

Starbucks Happiness is a Cup of Coffee Card

Apron of Love card, Starbucks gift card holder

I also used the Coffee Cup Framelit Dies and the Coffee Break DSP.  The paper has green in it so I made the apron green to match Starbucks! I did fussy cut the little cups even though there is a die to match.

Heat Tool

I’m not a coffee drinker myself, but many of my friends are so I think this will come in handy for some upcoming events. I have some other ideas for the Apron of Love set that I will be sharing over the next few days. It has been a fun set to play with and I hope you will stop back to see what else can be done with it. I even have a scrapbook page in mind for pictures of my daughters when they were younger wearing aprons while cooking. Now I just have to find them!

Celebrate the Good Stuff

Celebrate the Good Stuff

It’s always fun to celebrate the good stuff! A couple of things happened recently that were worth celebrating. We sold a house that we were flipping, my oldest daughter is home for spring break, and my broken arm is healing nicely and physical therapy is going well (although slow!) We went out to dinner to celebrate with two of my girls and were planning on a movie, but we were all so full after eating that we decided to just go home and chill. Probably would have fallen asleep in the movie theater.

So when I saw the challenge over at CAS on Sunday, I knew I was going to make a card. With a theme of celebrate and the use of sequins how could I not do it. There were plenty of cards posted to inspire me. And I have plenty of sequins.

I had used the set Picture Perfect Birthday is a class recently and decided to use the celebrate the good stuff saying. Then I had to use the party horn or whatever they are called! My kids loved these when they were little. Who am I kidding. I loved them too.

I love the bright colors in this card. Celebrating should be fun and these colors are so lively.

Product List

Today is also the first day of Spring too, although we still have snow on the ground around here. I’m hoping for some warmer weather soon because that will be something to celebrate! I’ve been stuck inside long enough. I hope that you find something good to celebrate too.

Petal Passion Suite Paper Techniques

I just love the many ways you can use the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper from the Petal Palette Suite. Whether you use it in just the black and white as I did in this post or do many of the other things you can with it, it is a great paper. I wanted to share some things I did with it as promised.

Stamping on it

Here is a card where I just stamped additional leaves in Old Olive. The stamp matches the paper which gives it a look of continuity. There’s my little bird again. Just love him.

Coloring

This was Fun! I used the Stampin Blends, which are alcohol markers, to color in different designs on the paper. I colored some of the white dots and then matched the balloons to those colors to make a fun birthday card.

While I was coloring, I noticed a very cool thing happening on the other side of the paper. Alcohol markers bleed through to the other side and they made an interesting effect. I went with fall colors on this one.

And this is what it looks like on the other side.

I plan on making a fall card with this – in the fall!

I think the next one is my favorite. The paper is already shaded, so for people who don’t like to blend, this is the perfect paper for you! Just color and you have a beautiful background paper. Now I did color these in with my right hand (I am left-handed) since I am still in a cast and sling. So forgive the outside of the lines coloring!

Don’t miss the beautiful embossing folder on this one. It doesn’t show up well in the picture, but there are two of them in the pack and they are lovely.

Brayering

The last thing I did was to brayer on the paper. I love how it looks on this particular pattern.

Love You Card

Anytime is a great time of year for a love you card! But Valentines day is a special time to let all those  people in your life know how much you care about them! I have so many people who are special to me and who have been helping me through these recent months of healing! My family, who has put up with my inability to do much of anything, my friends who are a never-ending source of encouragement, and my church, who have provided many meals during my convalescence.

I am a week out from my surgery and not yet able to make cards, but I wanted to share one of the ones I did in that brief time after breaking my arm and before having surgery on it!

Petal Palette

When I first saw this set I fell in love with that little bird! And the paper which is black and white. Well, the whole thing really. Wow! I will be sharing a couple of ideas on what you can do with the paper in a future post.

I decided to use the paper that had a die cut to match it and make a reverse image. And of course I had to use the Sweet & Sassy heart framelits. There are some great sayings in this set and I chose the one that say’s I just love you. Great for Valentine’s Day or just to let someone know how much they mean to you.

I love the label framelit that come with this set. It is perfect for so many sayings and easy to use. I cut one from real red and whisper white, then cut the red one in half to pop it. Just adds a little something.

Thanks for stopping by to visit me. Hope my love you card inspires you to let someone in your life know you care!
